Shrek the Musical Starts on Thursday!

“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…”

Thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside an overexcited Donkey to rescue a spirited princess. Throw in the vertically-challenged Lord Farquaad, a cookie with an attitude, a puppet with a bad habit and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.

The Stage Door is excited to present Shrek The Musical at the Kerikeri Turner Centre from May 16th to 19th, 2019.

A Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all-new songs from Jeanine Tesori and the side-splitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. Originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions and originally directed by Jason Moore and Rob Ashford.

From the theatre company that brought you Robin Hood and the Babes in the wood, an incredibly talented local Artistic team and over 50 local actors this amazing show is not to be missed!
