Shoot #8  (the extra shoot) – I hope someone is keeping count of the months! This is the shoot of the Calendar for the Play ‘ Calendar Girls’, being put on by Stage Door Theatre Company this August.   A donation from the proceeds of the sale of the calendar will go to NZ Child Cancer Foundation, and this is also a great way of celebrating the ladies in our community.   Each month is sponsored by a local business and we thank them for their support.   Most, but not all, of our models also appear in the Play.   This is the poster shot and our sponsor is Rainbow Falls Tea House .

We’re having a competition. The first person to correctly guess the venue of every image that is taken in a public setting will win two passes to the show. Post your list to the facebook page when we have completed the blogs – don’t worry we will remind you!!

Shoot # 8: (the extra shoot) The Poster Version 2

Did you notice that this is Poster Version 2?  In case you’re not following the blog posts, Version 1 was awesome but Les and I decided that for the poster we would go for a slightly more ‘demure’ shot.   After all, we don’t want to create any accidents when fellas driving along slap their eyes on our gorgeous ladies.

The ladies obviously enjoyed the first round and were happy to come back for another shot.   This time it was shot pretty early in the morning, and Les, Jo and I hummed and aahed about whether it should be inside or outside.   There was an unusual amount of humming and aahing to be honest (that’ll be the pisceans!), and as we were working to a tight schedule a little hurry-up from me and we finally got settled into the shoot.  Mindful of the winter chill, once the scene had been agreed upon it was fast work so our poor ladies didn’t catch a cold!.

I’m sure by now you will have guessed where this this is being shot.   Lovely tea, amazing cakes, yummy food and all in beautiful surroundings.   You can even have a walk afterwards if you feel a bit guilty about all the calories you’ve just consumed.

A meeting later in the afternoon and we agreed upon our poster image.  Still undecided, though, whether to use the original for the cover of the calendar  ……
