Spinning a yarn …

Shoot # 11. Sunday – how I would have loved a lie-in today. But no! It’s up and off to the first shoot of the day, set up at 9.30am. I know to many people a 7.30am alarm is already mid morning but not me, and probably not on a Sunday! Julian and I had breakfast together and I set off with a full belly, and arrived just a little before Les. We are, of course, extremely grateful to our sponsors and venue owners who also get out of bed on a Sunday morning just to accommodate us!.
By the way, the calendar is on sale now around Kerikeri. It’s a great way to support both our community and a very worthwhile cause. A donation from the proceeds of the sale of the calendar will go to NZ Child Cancer Foundation, and this is also a great way of celebrating the ladies in our community. Each month is sponsored by a local business and we thank them for their support. Most, but not all, of our models also appear in the Play. The sponsor for this month is All You Needle

Shoot # 11:
Diane, was our host for the first shoot of today and she was very accommodating as we shifted her furniture around and rearranged the shop for our set. We moved two sets of shelves (thankfully on wheels) in place to shelter our model from any passers-by. Les reminded me how – when it was her turn, the scrim that we put in place to black out the windows was being blown hither and thither by the strength of the wind and she was a tad nervous that people would be able to see. However, the shops were closed, very few people were around and we managed to give her some privacy! Today’s set in place and happy with the look, and the privacy we had achieved, we set about choosing some suitable props that would ensure the modesty our model.
Denise arrived and soon we were into the shoot. As usual, we had to tinker a little with our props, but Denise smiled through it all and before long another shoot and a lovely serene calendar photo was completed. This shoot is eligible for the completion to win two passes to the show.
