Calendar Girls: Shoot # 13 – January

Wine, Women and Song

Introduction, a blog by Flash Gordon Photography

The Final Shoot: We gathered at Jo’s house, the fire was warm, the wine was ready and the piano was waiting for today’s model.

I can’t believe it’s all over. It’s been a lot of work, but such a lot of fun too, with some very brave ladies. I hope we manage to raise some funds for the Stage Door’s chosen charity with our calendar sales.

The calendar is on sale now around Kerikeri. It’s a great way to support both our community and a very worthwhile cause. A donation from the proceeds of the sale of the calendar will go to NZ Child Cancer Foundation, and this is also a great way of celebrating the ladies in our community.   Each month is sponsored by a local business and we thank them for their support. Most, but not all, of our models also appear in the Play. The sponsor for this month is Kainui Vineyard

Shoot # 13:

This evening’s shoot is ‘the piano’ shoot, accompanied by some lovely Kainui wine.

As usual, we tested the shot first, which did mean pouring a glass of yummy Kainui Syrah 2015. However, we had to refrain from drinking it as the wine was needed for our shoot. How hard was that? (Very!)

Jo banished her husband and boys into their rooms so we could have some privacy for the shoot. Curtains drawn – it was cozy, warm and private. Whilst we waited for tonight’s model we checked out the images from yesterday, and chatted about the marketing strategy.

Jocelyn arrived and we checked the set out with her in place and clothed. We needed to make a few alterations and get the shoot done so that the ladies could get to rehearsal. This was the last shoot for the Calendar, and I have met some lovely ladies. I feel confident that the show will be a great success and I look forward to seeing it.

As well as the fundraising calendars, $5 from each ticket sold will be donated the NZ Child Cancer Foundation, as will a donation from the sales of the Calendars. What a great opportunity to see a moving, yet humourous play, whilst at the same time donate towards a worthy Charity.
