‘Crazy ole Maurice’ the Inventor (Belle’s father), is the first person to meet the scary Beast when he gets lost in the woods and seeks sanctuary in the Beast’s spooky castle. But he is imprisoned there instead, and when Belle comes to secure his release she is forced to take his place as the Beast’s prisoner…
